Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, celebrated as one of Bollywood‘s most adored couples, recently got married after seven years of dating. The couple, who tied the knot in June, openly showcases their affection for each other. During a recent appearance on a dancing reality show, it was revealed by Zaheer that Salman Khan played a crucial role in uniting them.
During an episode, host Jay Bhanushali asked newlyweds Sonakshi and Iqbal if there was a cupid in their relationship.Zaheer revealed that Khan played that role, stating, “He was the first to notice. Salman Khan called me and said that you are my family and she is also my family, so what is happening between you two? to which, I said we have genuine feelings and we really love each other.”
The actor added, “We weren’t in love at the time, but we did like one other. We weren’t dating, but he noted that we often talked for hours in another corner”.
Sonakshi and Zaheer kept their relationship private for seven years before marrying earlier this year. At a recent News18 event, they explained their reasons for privacy, with Sonakshi mentioning the concept of “nazar” to ward off negative energy. She emphasised that personal matters should remain private, especially when in the spotlight.
