The entire city of Mumbai was left in shock last week when senior politician Baba Siddique was shot dead on October 12, allegedly by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. While the police investigation is ongoing, reports suggest that Baba Siddique was targeted due to his close association with Salman Khan, who has been under the radar of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang for years.
In light of these events, the area around Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment has taken on a deserted appearance, with bystanders prohibited from stopping even momentarily to take selfies or videos. The location has effectively turned into a fortress, with police cordoning off the surroundings.
Media personnel have not been permitted to shoot in the area, though CCTV cameras, facing the road, seem capable of capturing any movement outside the apartment.
The walkway outside Galaxy Apartment is heavily guarded by male and female police constables. Meanwhile, laborers and workers from the area can be seen sitting at a distance, their mobile phones ready to catch a glimpse of the superstar.
Following the murder, Salman Khan’s security has been upgraded to Y+ category. According to India Today, his security detail now includes police escort cars that will accompany him whenever he steps out. In addition, a specially trained constable, skilled in handling all types of weapons, will also be by his side for added protection.
A close family friend of Salman Khan earlier told ETimes that the actor has always kept his doors open for friends and colleagues from the film industry. While Salman hasn’t restricted anyone from visiting his home, the family is being more cautious given the current circumstances. The friend also mentioned that despite the threat, Salman continues to offer his unwavering support to Baba Siddique’s family during this difficult time.
