With ‘Khel Khel Mein‘ set to release on August 15, Akshay Kumar is set for another shot at success at the box office. The actor, who has been going through a rough patch at the Indian box office, with multiple flops over the past year, is now opening up about how he deals with criticism of his films.
Talking to Pinkvilla, Akshay shared his perspective on handling criticism, noting that its impact often depends on its source.He mentioned that criticism comes in various forms and that a lot depends on the background and achievements of the person giving the feedback.
The actor elaborated on the types of criticism he encounters, saying that while one is personal criticism, where the person gets into personal detail, he said that the other is one which is from the heart and inspires improvement. Picking the latter as the preferred option, he said that he takes that kind of criticism in a very right way and understands it. He claims that he has made many changes in his professional life because of criticism.
While stating that he does try to take in feedback, he said it will not prompt him to give up doing different kinds of cinema. Because at times, he feels that he has to give the audience what he feels they want.
When discussing his approach to choosing films, Akshay mentioned that he considers what his audience might enjoy and aims to deliver that. He acknowledged that he has both succeeded and failed with his choices, but these outcomes don’t deter him from continuing to take risks and pursue new projects.
