Late veteran actor Amrish Puri’s grandson Vardhan Puri who, is gearing up for the release of his film ‘Bloody Ishq‘ alongside Avika Gor, opened up his thoughts about nepotism and his fond memories with Amrish Puri, learning from him.
During his conversation with The Free Press Journal, Vardhaan shared that most of his memories with his grandfather involved watching great cinema, cartoons, and Charlie Chaplin films, along with enjoying a lot of food together.His favourite memory with his grandparents was sleeping beside him every night, and he particularly missed those cuddles and snuggles whenever his grandfather was in town.
The actor expressed pride in his grandfather’s legacy, noting that he had done more than 500 movies and was a versatile actor. He mentioned that while he is proud of his grandfather and considers him his God, he is trying to build his own path and identity. He also strives to work in different genres and give his all, aiming to achieve a similar sense of versatility as he continues to grow.
When asked about his take on nepotism, the actor acknowledged the existence of nepotism in every industry, stating that it might help someone get inside the door faster than others. However, he emphasized that staying inside the door depends on one’s talent. He likened it to a player on a field with different levels, where everything is merit-based. He expressed the belief that if someone is truly good, they will always shine.
