House of the Dragon season 2 episode 4 records 8.1 million viewers | Filmymeet

On the 16th of June, the Game of Thrones sequel House of the Dragon season 2 episode 1 debuted to 7.8 million viewers, just 22 percent below the 10 million viewers that the series originally drew when it first launched in 2022. According to Warner Bros. Discovery, the season 2 premiere of House of the Dragon is now nearing 25 million viewers, reports Variety. Many viewers decided to catch up on the series over the Fourth of July weekend, making July 1-7 the ‘strongest week yet’ for the series.
House of the Dragon season 2 episode 4, which released on Sunday July 7, drew 8.1 million viewers in the USA across HBO and Max, beating the audience size for the premiere of the season. Title ‘The Red Dragon and the Gold’, this episode featured one of the biggest battles of the show yet, with Prince Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell) and his dragon Vhagar facing off against Princess Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best) and her dragon Meleys. Aemond was joined by his brother, King Aegon Targaryen II (Tom Glynn-Carney), at the last minute, who arrived in a drunken stupor to try and play a more active role in the war between the Greens and the Blacks. In the fight, Aemond fired on Aegon, despite being on the same side, causing the King to fall to the ground and get severely injured. The battle ended with Aemond victorious, as his dragon bit off the head of Meleys and caused Rhaenys to fall to her death.
Season 2 sees the return of cast members Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Rhys Ifans, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall and Matthew Needham. Along with that, the new season came with the arrival of Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower, Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong, Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf, Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark and Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne.
