The vigilante action thriller starring Kamal Haasan was released in teatres on July 12. Directed by Shankar, ‘Indian 2‘ is the sequel to the 1996 cult classic drama and the film on day 1 of its release received mixed reviews from audience. It managed to gross Rs 26 crore in India on day 1 of its release and $1 million in North America. According to Sacnilk reports, the film on day 2 has grossed Rs 16 crore at the box office, showing a dip of 40% from day 1 collection.
‘Indian 2’ received bith positive and negative reviews from fans and audeince and many took to social media to state that they were disappointed with the film’s sequel. Fans even stated that director Shankar has lost hi midas touch and said that no filmmakers shoule be allowed to do a sequel of the classic as it just spoils a good film.

The makers have also revealed that the film has a part 3 and it will have Kajal Aggarwal playing the lead and the film ‘Indian 3’ is set for its release in theatres in January 2025.
