NTR Jr’s Devara inches toward Rs 14.5 mark for premiere shows in North America | Hindi Movie News Filmymeet

Over the past few years, Telugu Cinema has come to dominate the North American ( United States of America + Canada) box office with films like Baahubali franchise, Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire, RRR, Pushpa and many more, thanks to the growing Telugu speaking population, especially in the USA. The next big offering is going to be NTR Jr’s Devara- Part 1, his first big release post Oscar winning SS Rajamouli’s RRR, and his first solo film in 6 years.

The film had generated a lot of buzz in the last week of August, when the advance booking for the film had opened in the circuit, it went to be become the first film to cross US $ 1 million mark, even before the release of its trailer. But due to the lackluster trailer, the growth of the film has been impacted, but thanks to initial buzz and ticket sales, the film is expected to take a very good start at the box office. With just 6 days for the premiere shows to begin, the film has already minted about US $ 1.73 million( Rs 14.45 crore) in North America, making it one of the biggest openings for NTR Jr. The film will require Us $ 5.5 million to break even in the circuit, the major battle for the film will star post the premiere and day 1 shows, as by end the end, the euphoria would end and content will start speaking.
Devara marks the Telugu debut of Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. The film is directed by Kortala Siva, and will have two installments.
