Parineeti Chopra, who is basking in the success of her recently-released Imtiaz Ali’s film ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’, refers to the accomplishment of the film as a lifetime achievement award. She also believes that its success isn’t PR-created.
During an interview with Indian Express, Parineeti shared that even though one receives a lifetime award after over 50 years of service, she said she believes the two years she gave to ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ were her lifetime. She stated, “It is like a lifetime achievement award. This one truly feels like that because it feels like a genuine, bonafide, authentic true hit. It is not a PR hit; it is not a fake hit.
The actress discussed how she did movies for all other reasons than her character and performance, calling herself a “prime example” of the same. Sometimes it was for a director, and other times it was for a co-star, and each time it was done for different and wrong reasons.
Parineeti Chopra believes that she was subjected to criticism since the crowd anticipated a “big performance” from her, which she was unable to deliver. Citing the example of ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ and ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’, the actress added, “Whenever I have done a film where I was showing them (the audience) the performance that they believe I can deliver, it has always worked.”
Amar Singh Chamkila was released on the OTT platform Netflix on April 08, 2024.
