Sara Ali Khan shuts criticism on trying to create a ‘relatable’ image: ‘In real life I am just who I am’

Sara Ali Khan is quite an avid social media user. From her hilarious shayaris to wearing clothes that are not exactly ‘designer wears’, Sara has always managed to stay relatable, and has earned a girl-next-door image amongst the netizens. However, a section of the netizens often find it fabricated and speculate that it is pure PR work.
Sara Ali Khan has recently addressed this criticism and stated that she only curates characters on screen. In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Sara Ali Khan opened up about her relatable image. “In real life I am just who I am,” she said. The actress also added that curating an image for herself is something she would do for the camera, and not in life. She also pointed out that she is someone who goes to the gym with five pairs of shorts and alternates them with crop tops and also doesn’t mind going to the airport in athleisure or jeans and a t-shirt.
Sara Ali Khan further added that honesty is her personal image, and when it comes to her sartorial choices, it purely depends on her mood. She pointed out that on some days, when she likes to dress up, she would wear a beautiful dress with matching sandals, get her hair done, and go, however, there are also days when she doesn’t want to be that fancy.

On the work front, Sara Ali Khan’s recent outing was ‘ Ae Watan Mere Watan’. Released earlier this year, the period film was helmed by Kannan Iyer. The film was based on the life of Usha Mehta, a brave young girl who started an underground radio station to spread the message of unity, during the Quit India movement in the early 1940s.
