Shalini Passi, a prominent art collector and philanthropist, who made her debut on Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives 3, recently shared an amusing playful habit of transporting Delhi-grown vegetables to Mumbai.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Shalini revealed that she brings her own vegetables from Delhi whenever she travels to Mumbai, preferring the freshness and quality available in the capital. “I carry my own vegetables from Delhi when I come here, like beet and all. It’s terrible,” she joked, explaining her preference. She humorously credited the proximity to Punjab as the reason for Delhi’s superior produce, adding, “Our beetroots look like beetroots.”
Aside from her vegetable preferences, Shalini Passi is known for her contributions to India’s art scene. She is the founder of My Art Shalini Pahal and the Shalini Passi Art Foundation, both dedicated to supporting emerging artists and promoting Indian art. She is also a dancer, singer, gymnast, and active social worker, whose foundation has become a key platform for artists across the country.
Passi is married to businessman Sanjay Passi, the head of the Pasco Group, a Tata and Maruti dealership network valued at around Rs 2,690 crore. He took over his family’s Tata Motors dealership in Chandigarh after graduating from Hansraj College, Delhi University, with a B.Com degree.
