Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 jumps two spots in a day to become the 7th biggest Hindi film ever | Hindi Movie News Filmymeet

The year 2024 till now can be easily divided into two parts, first part was owned by Nag Ashwin’s mythological sci-fi film Kalki 2898 AD starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone. The second part belongs to Amar Kaushik directed and Niren Bhatt written Stree 2 starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurrana, Pankaj Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee.Just like how Kalki 2898 AD had set the box office on fire, Stree 2 is pumping iron on steroids, with every passing day. On Sunday morning, the film went on to become the 9th biggest hit of Hindi cinema and by Monday morning, it had jumped two positions to become the 7th biggest Hindi film ever. Now, it is all set to cross the 400 crore mark by tomorrow on the occasion of Janmashtami, which is being celebrated in the country today and tomorrow.
In the first week, which was an extended one, thanks to Independence day and Raksha Bandhan, the film minted Rs 291.65 crore, thus making an entry into the Top 20 Hindi films of all time. And during the second weekend, it entered the Top 10 list.Stree 2 minted Rs 17.5 crore on 2nd Friday, and witnessed a near 90% jump on Saturday, to collect Rs 33 crore, and on Sunday, it collected Rs 44 crore as per early estimates by Sacnilk, taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 386.15 crore. With this collection, Stree 2 has beaten the lifetime collection of Dangal ( Rs 374.43) and Sanju ( Rs 342.57)
With no real competition for the following few weeks, the film would be aiming to enter the 500 crore club and give company to films like Pathaan, Gadar 2 and Jawan.
