Rohit Shetty’s action film ‘Singham Again‘ and Anees Bazmee’s horror-comedy ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3′ have continued their box office dominance into the working week after a record-breaking Rs 200 crore weekend at the domestic box office.
According to Sacnilk.com, both films were off to a good start on Monday morning, recording good collections for early shows. The report states that both Bollywood films earned over Rs 2.5 crore respectively. While the Ajay Devgn starrer cop action flick earned Rs 3.8 crore, the Kartik Aaryan starrer took a minimal lead earning Rs 3.87 crore by early afternoon. Both films are maintaining impressive momentum following their strong Diwali weekend openings.
As of Monday morning, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, also starring Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri, grossed an estimated Rs 108.69 crore in net collections. Meanwhile, ‘Singham Again’, featuring an ensemble cast, maintained its leads with a net total of over Rs 125 crore. Both films have benefited from the long Diwali Holiday weekend and an expanded show schedule to meet demand from audiences nationwide.
While it is natural for films to see a sharp decline in collections on a Monday, it remains to see how well these movies perform at the box office on a regular working week and if they have what it takes to shake up the Indian box office and emerge as one of the highest earning film releases of the year.
‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ has already become Kartik’s second-highest-earning film at the box office.
