Amid the old debate over nepotism sparked by Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic death in 2020, old clips from Karan Johar’s talk show ‘Koffee With Karan’ have resurfaced online. One notable throwback video features Akshay Kumar questioning Karan about the absence of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s name from the list of most stunning actresses.
On the show, Karan posed a question to Akshay about who among Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, and Kareena Kapoor is the most stunning actress. In response, Akshay put Karan on the spot by asking why Aishwarya Rai was not included in the discussion.
Johar admitted he felt bad for not including Aishwarya Rai’s name during a rapid-fire round on ‘Koffee With Karan’.
Last year, Karan made a successful return to directing with ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani‘. Despite this success, his production company, Dharma Productions, has faced challenges, producing films like ‘Kill’, ‘Yodha’, and ‘Jigra’, which did not perform well at the box office. Recently, Karan sold a 50% stake in Dharma to businessman Adar Poonawalla for ₹1,000 crore amid reports of potential bankruptcy for the production house.
On the work front, Akshay has numerous films in his upcoming list such as ‘Housefull 5’, ‘Welcome To the Jungle’ and ‘Bhooth Bangla’.
