In an old interview with Siddharth Kannan, Bhumika had said that she got many offers from filmmakers, but she had always been selective and choosy about what to do.She had once signed a big film, and unfortunately, the production, hero, title, and the heroine of the film changed one day. She believes that it would have been different if she had gotten a chance to do that movie. She waited for that film for one year and didn’t sign any other film. Later, her next project also did not happen, and she called it a gamble, “No one knows which movie will work and which will not.”

She further added that when she signed ‘Jab We Met’ and it did not happen, she felt really bad. That’s the only time she felt bad about losing a film. Bobby Deol and she were the initial picks for the film. Then Shahid Kapoor replaced Bobby and Ayesha Takia replaced Bhumika. Finally, Shahid and Kareena Kapoor Khan shared screen space in ‘Jab We Met’. Even after feeling bad about it, Bhumika just moved on from it. She signed ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ and ‘Kannathil Muthamittal’ with Mani Ratnam, but both projects did not happen.
Previously, Bobby Deol had also spoken about his disappointment upon being replaced in ‘Jab We Met’. Bhumika Chawla later tried her luck in the South Indian film industry. She even played a supporting role in ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’.
