Vickay Kaushal had set the stage for a good opening for his latest release Bad Newz, with his massive dance number ‘ Tauba Tauba’, and that is exactly how things played out. The film in the first weekend, took a very good start, where it minted Rs 29.7 crore, and ended the first week at Rs 42.85 crore. However, after careful examination, one could notice that post the weekend, the film has been on a downward trend with only just one spike on Tuesday, which was more so because of ‘ Buy One Get One’ offer.
However, the weekend brought in the much needed relief, as on Friday, the film minted Rs 2.15 crore, Saturday saw a 52 % hike to earn Rs 3.25 crore, and Sunday collected Rs 3.75 crore as per early estimates by Sacnilk. And with this, the Vicky Kaushal, Ammy Virk and Triptii Dimri starrer crossed Rs 50 crore mark on the 10 th day. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 52 crore.
The film will be facing competition from Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, directed by Neeraj Pandey next week onwards, while Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD is still holding out strongly, despite spending a month at the box office. Vicky would now be seen in Laxman Utekar and Dinesh Vijan’s Chhava based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, where he plays the titular role and Rashmika Mandanna is paired opposite him. At that point, it will be clashing with Allu Arjun’s Pushpa- The Rule.
