Vicky Kaushal, Ammy Virk and Triptii Dimri starrer Bad Newz has had a decent run at the box office in the first week. It received a lot of love in the first weekend, but failed to sustain itself from there on, and has been on a downward trend. The film saw a spike only during the weekend, as audiences didn’t have much choice with only Deadpool & Wolverine being the other big release.The Hollywood blockbuster saw a massive collection of nearly Rs 66 crore over the weekend, while Vicky’s film in the second weekend was able to earn Rs 9.15 crore.
The film on Monday, crashed to earn just Rs 1.20 crore, which was a 68 % drop from Sunday’s number of Rs 3.75 crore. Though on Tuesday the film saw a minute jump, but that was purely on the basis of ‘ Buy One Get One’ free, which was promoted by actors on their Instagram stories. The movie thus collected Rs 1.40 crore, as per early estimates by Sacnilk, taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 54.60 crore. The film will little resistance from upcoming films like Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha , but Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman might be in the battle for audience attention.
Vicky’s next big release is Chhava, directed by Laxman Utekar, which is slated to release on 6th December taking on Allu Arjun’s Pushpa- The Rule. Incidentally, both the films will feature Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead.
